Culinary Expert
Rachael LaPorte, grew up on a self sustaining family farm in Lebanon CT where she learned the appreciation for the land, animals and people. Coming from a long line of country cooks, her passion for working with natural resources and sharing them with the world started. “I grew up on a kitchen counter… no matter the season we were making a stew, canning or preserving, this was family time.”
As Rachael pursued her culinary career throughout high school and college she earned national accolades in culinary arts competitions and graduated cum laude from Johnson and Wales University. After University Rachael took the time to travel the world working under several chefs while exploring international culinary styles and cultures.
Rachael returned to CT where she taught culinary arts at a local technical high school while earning her masters degree in curriculum and instruction from the University of Saint Joseph. She was the executive chef of an exclusive green catering company while earning several international, state and national awards. She returned to her passion for health and well being due to her own struggle with eating well, personal health and fitness.
During that time Rachael met up with an incredible health and fitness trainer Shawn Guiney who owns Simply Fit Studio in Lebanon CT. Under his recommendations of food and fitness she lost 55 lbs. During their time together there was a meeting of the minds to create delicious, clean, food that is available to everyone.
